I'm wondering which programming language you are using to create the game, considering this is a PC game and not Nintendo DS homebrew?
For the time being, this game is being made by RPG Maker XP from Enterbrain, under Poccil's Pokemon Essentials starter kit. The official language is referred to as Ruby and/or RGSS. As of how it stands now, I believe you can event incorporate C or more. I'm not sure yet. At the very least a few talented scripters have made it so I could do live-action cut scenes or put in flash minigames, etc…
Sounds good. I'll have to check that out then :) At first I thought you were coding everything from scratch… while it would take much longer, you'd have more control over it then.
I have fairly good control with it - considering I can edit the scripts at my leisure, and I also have a couple of scripters working for me. Which reminds me…I should be working right now..
Well, I for one am definitely interested in seeing a playable beta test of this, to see what you've done so far. Screenshots, and even videos, don't do a game justice most of the time.
Well for now, your one of my only fans. I could give you a choice… would you like me to wait for my original release, or just release what I have now as a REALLY early alpha, so you can start training. ;)
Also, I'm working on the Extras Section, which includes some Dev stuff - if you should want to make your own game.
I can wait ;-) got Halo: Reach to play at the moment anyway… that'll take up my time.
Oh cool, demo right or is it the full thing now? Let me know how awesome it is. Always liked Halo just not the Xbox they make it for. :/
LOL. How could you not like the Xbox 360? :)
PS3 has great graphics for PS3-exclusive games… things like God of War, that can take full advantage of it. The Blu-Ray player also appeals to some people.
When it comes to multiplayer gaming though, Xbox 360 is king. No doubt about it. It's not the graphics that counts, but how much fun you have when playing a game, and how quickly you can do things e.g. sending invites, joining other people's games, etc. And the Achievement system is far better integrated into the console than the Trophy system is on the PS3. Having to manually open the menu, and scroll down to the trophies option, is a pain.
But, we are getting off topic :)
OH, and it's a "multiplayer beta" for Halo: Reach. I think there's 4 maps, and a handful of game modes… the single player campaign, the vast majority of multiplayer maps, and all new vehicles are excluded from the beta so that there's still a reason to buy the game later.
There's a few bugs, but nothing major. I think the main reasons were (a) find out what parts people hated, e.g. best camping spots, or gun combinations, and to add steps to make the gameplay more fair (b) a stress-test on the servers… as they expect upwards of 2-3 million unique players to try the beta. So far I think they've had 1.2 million after a week last I checked.
Full game comes out in "Fall 2010" , so December-ish.
So how is Reach now? xD
Have the full game. It is amazing :P Can't stop playing it!
